PROJECT 6: ART WEARS

WITCH

Is the witch we think about truly an evil person?
If not, what elements make up our conception of an evil witch? e project started from this question. First, I started to work with the character of the witch, the surroundings, and objects that embody the mental character of the witch. I created the work by making the cape of the witch, collar, and thorns that represent the evil tendency, with objects we easily come across in our surroundings such as foam board, wooden chopsticks and push pins. To interpret the witch in a contemporary way, I found a deconstructionist building that is similar to how there is empty space between the thorns, and deconstructed the foam board, to maximise the sharp shape.

FLOWER GARDEN

I wanted to create something from my memory of Salzburg, Austria, when I travelled to Europe three years ago. Among diverse elements of a garden, I used the fence, stem and ower, and started the project by researching on diverse shapes of those elements. e types and shapes of fence, how the stem is twisted and positioned, and types of owers – I decided on the size, shape and position for a harmony of these three elements by exper- imenting directly on the body.
